I'm thinking in the Shirley Jackson sense of the term when she used "magic" to fix a fridge that was not working by writing a short story about a magic fridge, and using the money to buy a new one. (You wrote about that.) Magic is how we can transform broken things to something better, which will be needed.
My church does Star Words for Epiphany and mine for the year is Release. This is my first year doing it so I will let you know. I do think it's funny because I just found out my gallbladder will need to be removed. And that is a release.
